Marine Atlantique célèbre 120 ans de service dans le golfe

June 30, 1898, Bruce left Port aux Basques just before midnight and arrived in North Sydney the next morning, the 1 st of July. This is the first crossing of a passenger ferry between Port aux Basques and North Sydney.

This year marks the 120 th anniversary of this historic journey.

Although thousands of crossings have taken place between the two ports over the past 120 years, meeting the needs of customers is still our priority. Carrying essential people and goods, we provide an essential service that has long played an important role in Atlantic Canada's economy.

From old ships like the Bruce , the two Caribou and the William Carson to today's modern ships like the Blue Puttees and the Highlanders , thousands of dedicated employees continue the rich tradition of connecting the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. Newfoundland and Labrador to those of the rest of Canada. We have been providing this integral ferry service here for 120 years.
